Sorrel Blood Vein
Tap rooted perennial with green leaves and red stems and veins which make this a stand out plant both in the garden and on the plate. The leaves can be from 10 - 30cm long and can be used in salads, soups, fish dishes and for garnish. The flavour is far milder flavour than lemon sorrel with much less acidity. Despite the taproot we find this plant also requires far more water in summer than the lemon sorrel. It is a more compact plant and deserves its place in any ornamental kitchen garden. 9cm pot.
