Eupatorium purpureum

Tall erect herbaceous perennial to 1.5m, also known as Queen of the Meadow and Gravel Root. Large domed clusters of nectar and pollen-rich purple flowers from mid summer to mid autumn, which attract bees, butterflies and moths. Great for the back of a border in a naturalistic setting, and goes well with echinacea and rudbeckia.

The plant was used medicinally by native American Indians and was quickly adopted by the white settlers. The whole plant, but especially the root, is astringent, diuretic, nervine and tonic. It is used as a diaphoretic to induce perspiration and break a fever, and for its benefits to the kidney and urinary tract.

Plant in sun or part shade, suitable for most soil types including dry soil.

9cm pot. Certified organic plant.

Freight: We can send up to 9 plants this size (in 9cm pots) for the same freight price or they can be combined with other grades but this will incur higher freight costs.
