Klaus Lotz has more than 35 years of experience in permaculture, regenerative agriculture, and Syntropic Agroforestry. Holding a degree in Organic Agriculture from the University of Kassel, Germany, he has worked across South America, Europe, and New Zealand, developing practical, regenerative farming systems suited to diverse climates.

While living in Brazil, Klaus worked alongside Ernst Götsch, the founder of Syntropic Agroforestry, helping regenerate 250 hectares of degraded land into a thriving ecosystem now producing world-class cacao. Over the past 20 years, he has adapted these principles to New Zealand conditions, pioneering Syntropic Agroforestry on Northland’s steep clay soils through his family business, PermaDynamics.

An experienced farmer, educator, and mentor, Klaus is passionate about helping growers regenerate landscapes, improve soil health, increase biodiversity, and build resilient food systems that work in harmony with nature.

Join us for this workshop to learn how we can apply syntropic techniques to food forest design in temperate and mediterranean climates.
