Biomass Plants
Biomass in this context means “Get your loada plant material here!” These are plants which typically have big leaves or regrow fast after harvesting. They can be cut as part of a ‘chop and drop’ system to mulch around neighbouring plants, thereby suppressing weeds, and if they are also nutrient cyclers they will also be feeding those neighbouring plants in the process. They can also be used as compost materials. An essential part of any food forest system, and very useful in any garden too.
