A tender perennial (dies down in winter) with strong sweet scented foliage used in fruit cups, fruit salads and fresh or dried for a delicious sweet anise tea. Flower spikes of purple blossoms provide copious nectar for bees. An infusion of the leaves can also be made to treat colds and fevers.
