Description
Brassica oleracea italica
Delicious and hardy. Plants are slow to grow but eventually get very tall then yield prolifically for much longer than heading broccoli plants, thereby saving space in the long run. Cut the central head when it appears, then cut side shoots when they are 10-15cm long. Leaves are also edible, and make good chicken fodder. Winter and summer varieties available seasonally. A great plant for the kids to harvest as the spears are easily snapped off – and can be muched raw if desired!
9cm pot. Certified organic plant. Usually available autumn to spring.
