Description
Pimpinella saxifraga
Hardy perennial herb with many edible and medicinal uses. The seeds are edible and can be used as a condiment, the young leaves and shoots have a mild peppery flavour and can be used in salads.
The herb has diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties.
The flower umbels are good for attracting beneficial insects such as hoverflies and ladybirds.
Prefers full sun or part shade and some moisture. Height to 80cm.
