Tall feathery mauve flower spikes which are loved by bees and butterflies and are also great for cutting. The flowers have the unusual habit of opening from the top of the spike downwards. The tuberous root can be used medicinally as a local application for sore throats. Both roots and leaves can also be used to make pot pourri & insect repellent. Sun or part shade. Happy in most soil types and drought tolerant after the first year, but will not stand waterlogging over winter. Height to 100cm when in flower. Certified organic plant in 9cm pot.
