Ribes uva-crispa
‘Pax’ is a red, mid-season, dessert gooseberry; a vigorous, somewhat spreading bush with occasional spines on young wood, but at maturity it is virtually spineless. Crops well with a good flavour. Harvest Dec – Jan. Excellent for pies, jam or freezing. Gooseberries require moist but well-drained soil that has been improved with organic matter. They can be grown as goblet-shaped bushes or cordons. Water well as fruits swell. Height and spread 1 – 1.5m. PB5 Certified organic plant.
