Barbarea verna
Also known as Upland Cress. Similar to watercress but, predictably, requires less water to grow, although the leaves will be bitter if it’s too dry. The rosettes of dark green glossy leaves are spicy like rocket or radish and delicious in sandwiches and salads. They can also be steamed or used in soups. Very slow to bolt. Height 30cm.
9cm pot, certified organic plant. Available autumn through early spring only, limited quantities.
