Description
Arachis hypogaca
Plants not available 2021 season sorry.
A very rare variety gifted to the US Dept of Agriculture from Israel in 1964. Comparatively small shells containing 1-2 good sized nuts with creamy-white skins. All peanuts needs a long warm summer. Space plants 20cm apart and mulch well to prevent weeds. After flowering remove mulch to allow the stems to grow down into the soil where the peanuts develop. Lift and remove after the first frost, or before if ready, and dig the remainder of the plants in as a green manure crop. Clean the shells and allow them to dry. If using for seed for the following year, store them in their shells in a dry place away from rodents.
One certified organic plant in 9cm pot. Available Nov-Jan only.
