Ground-hugging form but its leaves can grow as high as 5cm if growing in light shade when the colour will change from purple to a grey-purple. Small creamy white flowers appear on short stems in summer. The botanical name ‘inermis’ means ‘not armed’ – there are no barbs on seeds, unlike other species. Requires full sun to light shade, and well drained soil. Coverage approx 1 metre.
