Lychnis coronaria ‘Alba’
Easy care, drought and frost hardy border plant with attractive woolly silver foliage – the felt-like leaves were used as lamp wicks in olden days (Lychnis is Greek for ‘lamp’). At home in cottage garden or Mediterranean/xeriscaping gardens, the spires of bright white flowers from late spring to summer are wonderful for attracting butterflies and also brighten up dark spaces. A biennial or short lived perennial which self seeds freely but is not invasive. Space 30cm apart, height to 60cm. Look great mixed with the dark and light pink varieties we also stock.
