Ceanothus papillosus roweanus
The largest of our range of California Lilacs. Hardy evergreen nitrogen fixing shrub providing a stunning show of blue flowers in spring which attracts bees by the hive-load! Very drought hardy, great on banks, hot, dry hillsides or for hedging.
Full sun, any soil type as long as it’s not waterlogged. Can be eaten by stock but best for emergency fodder only as the shrubs won’t recover if browsed or pruned too hard.
