Description
Stachys byzantina
Mat-forming perennial herb with soft thick grey leaves and white flowers in summer loved by bees. Useful edging and ground cover plant, spreads but not invasive. Used as an edible and medicinal plant in some cultures. It’s also a lovely sensory plant to have in the garden – kids love to stroke the soft leaves. They can also be used as emergency toilet paper!
Full sun. Height to 20cm when in flower (late spring).
