Dwarf Pincushion Flower (Small Scabious)

$8.50

Scabiosa columbaria

Very pretty perennial native to Europe (including the UK) and parts of Asia. From the basal rosette branched stems arise in spring to carry the pale blue/lavender flowers from early summer well into autumn. The flowers are especially rich in both nectar and pollen and are a magnet for bees, butterflies and hoverflies.

The Dwarf Pincushion Flower grows best in full sun in light, calcareous soils, with good drainage, and is easy care, thriving even in nutrient-poor soils. A great addition to gravel or dry gardens and biodiversity/wildlife gardens. It also makes a great cut flower.

Frost hardy perennial. Height 50cm, spread 20cm.

Certified Organic plant in 9cm pot.

Freight: We can send up to 9 plants this size (in 9cm pots) for the same freight price or they can be combined with other grades but this will incur higher freight costs.
