Robust fleshy perennial with airy raspberry-pink clusters of flowers all summer and autumn. Young leaves can be used raw or cooked, and the root can be used in soups. Very drought hardy plant and good for attracting bees and butterflies. Frost hardy. Note that this plant has no medicinal uses and should not be confused with true valerian (Valeriana officinalis).
