Description
Prunus persica
We have a peach tree in our old chook pen which originally came from our lovely friends at Millstream Gardens in Pukehou. We have planted out many seedlings from it and they all produce similarly lovely fruit. Fruit is produced mid season in Hawke’s Bay – around February. flesh. Excellent flavour for eating fresh or bottling. Ours grow well even on clay soil, and we find they fruit after about 3 years – relatively early for an ungrafted variety. We also much prefer the natural tree shapes of ungrafted varieties. Height 3-4m. Variations may occur as these are seed grown.
Certified Organic plants in PB3 or PB5, one year old seedling approx height 70 – 100cm.
