Cultivation

Moisture-loving herb for full sun or partial shade. Easy to grow, and may become invasive if not contained in a pot.

Uses

Especially good as a basil substitute in winter when basil is unavailable.  Makes a great pesto. The flowers are attractive to bees and the smell of mint is said to deter rodents, so it can be grown in areas where grain is stored.

In general mint is said to have a beneficial effect on digestion, and it may help relieve some symptoms of colds also.

Primary Actions: antibacterial, anti-inflammatory
