Description
Mentha piperata citrata ‘Basil’
Upright mint with rounded, thick, dark green foliage with a reddish-purple tinge. and red stems and leaf veins. It has the scent and flavour of basil, so may be used in recipes that call for either herb. Especially good as a basil substitute in winter when basil is unavailable. Makes a great pesto. Like other mints it has a tendency to run, so you may want to keep it contained. Perennial.
9cm pot. Certified organic plant.
